October 19, 2004 PTO Meeting Minutes
PTO President Lisa Ridenour called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. Members in attendance were Lisa Ridenour, Dan Leary, Theresa Tedford, Debbie Sharp, Lori Gupton, Lynda Marcoux, Carolyn Livengood, Jill Walter, Nan Shugart, Pearl Goins, Melanie Braden, Beth Starr-Fowler, Lee Walter, Sonya Parker, Rebecca Birmingham, Linda Krusen, Cassie DeJarnette.
PrincipalÕs report Š All teachers and staff are getting ready for Open House which will be on October 21 We did pass the SACÕs review and are fully accredited for the next 5 years. Communication was one are a that needed improvement. Mrs. Goins will be asking for parents to be on committees in the future and there will be surveys sent out every year.
September Minutes
The September PTO meeting minutes were distributed for review. Carolyn Livengood moved that the minutes be accepted. The motion was seconded by Lori Gupton and was passed unanimously.
Treasurer's Report - Lynda Marcoux handed out the Budget and TreasurerÕs Report. The report was reviewed and Sonya Parker moved that the report be accepted. The motion was seconded by Lynda Marcoux and was passed unanimously.
Committee Reports
Kathryn Beich - We have made a profit of $10,113.00 so far on the fundraiser. We should get some money from the magazine sells in the next couple of weeks. The money booth and money wheel was a blast. The kids had a great time, as did the parents who came to watch.
Book Fair - The book fair is going great. The teachers and staff had a party to see the items and fill our their wish list. Classroom visits are going well. A parent donated the red, white and blue ribbon with medallion that each student received.
Playground - The RogerÕs Group came out and gave suggestions about some problem areas on the playground.
Room Parent Committee - They have put together a phone tree to get information out to parents.
Open House - The Open House will be October 21. The PTO will have a bake sale and will also be selling cookbooks. There will be a hot dog vendor selling hot dogs, chips and drinks. We still need volunteers to help with the hot dogs and bake sale. Old Glenwood field trip t-shirts will also be available for $2.00.
Box Tops Š The 2nd grade won the box tops contest. There will be another contest starting soon. A parent has donated the magnets to be sent home with children for box tops.
Glenwood Outreach - Mrs. Goins will approve for the students to write letters to Assisted Living residents in her Monday minutes.
