PrincipalÕs Report - The year is off to a good start.
Library News Ð The library is open at 8:00 a.m. each morning if students need to check out or drop off a book. All students have library time during the week. ItÕs up to each teacher if the students can go to the library during regular class time.
Elections Ð The election speeches will be video taped tomorrow for students to watch and cast their votes. There was a misunderstanding with the primaries that were held in each classroom. It was not intended for names to be pulled out of a hat or for kids to raise their hands for whom they wanted. It should have been more like a primary with kids from each class being chosen to move on to the final election. A parent made a suggestion for next year's elections. The suggestion was the all students who want to run for office would campaign in their classroom first with posters and speeches. The winners in the classrooms would move on to the final election where they will display their posters and make another speech that will be video taped for all students to see. Mrs. Goins felt this was a good idea and hopes to make the changes next year.
